Hakaya campaign recommendations to local authorities regarding displaced persons
In continuation of the “Hakaya” campaign, the Accountability Advocates Organization team held a session with the local authorities from the competent authorities to convey the voice of the displaced. The campaign came up with several #recommendations:
- Strengthening the mechanism for submitting complaints and methods for dealing with them by establishing specialized centers or units to receive complaints from displaced people and residents, while ensuring that they are dealt with effectively and professionally.
- Providing periodic training courses on the complaint submission mechanism for all concerned parties to ensure the provision of consistent and effective services.
Encouraging open dialogue between community members to promote mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence.
- Forming a committee for displaced people within the district.
- Raising awareness of community cohesion, the rights of displaced people, and coexistence.
- Implementing ongoing awareness campaigns on the importance of community cohesion and peaceful coexistence between displaced people and residents.
- Promoting awareness of the rights of displaced people by disseminating information through local and community media.
Activating the role of the media by producing media materials such as podcasts and videos to enhance awareness about the rights of displaced people, international humanitarian law, and the Guiding Principles for internally displaced persons.
